This painting was created from a culmination of photo scrap. Some being from my first trip to the Mentawai islands. The intrigue of the people in Indonesia inspired me to create this piece.

Inspired from a photo by Rob Gilley, this piece captures the perspective and feel of what it means to be a part of the ocean. This is where I feel most at home. I could not resist painting the definition of surfing for me.

This piece was my first in the Indonesian Series. Most only see the perfect waves above water. The Mentawais also has some unbelievable marine life. I spent some serious time studying above and below the surface at Lances Left.

This was one of my most enjoyable paintings in the Indonesian series. Bojok is the King of the Mentawai islands off the coast of Indonesia. The people there are some of the most amazing and resilient people on the planet
